Brian Kavanagh is a Chartered Civil Engineer, a Registered Consulting Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland. He is an experienced Project Director with over twenty years experience as a Civil & Structural Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Resident Engineer, Site Engineer and Director in Charge on Civil and Structural Engineering projects throughout Ireland.
He is currently the Director in charge of a number of projects including an extension to the Pauwels Trafo Factory in Cavan and a major development in Wheatfield Prison.
He has extensive experience in the Planning, Design and Project Management of large Healthcare, Pharmaceutical and Institutional projects and is responsible for the continued development of the St. James's Hospital, Dublin Campus. He is also responsible for all developments at Tallaght Regional Hospital where he worked as Resident Engineer, from 1993 to 1997, on the main Tallaght Regional Hospital Project, and currently provides an ongoing back-up service to the Hospital's Technical Services Department.
He has wide experience in the design of both the industrial and educational facilities and works on an on-going basis for a variety of major industrial firms. He has also been responsible for major 3rd level developments at NUI Galway, Ballyhaise Agricultural College, Co. Cavan and at the Trinity School of Medicine at Tallaght. He has had previous site experience, in England, in both the Nuclear and Railway Industries.
He is the firms' Director of Information Technology.
Brian is an Executive Member of Engineers Ireland since 2002, a former chairman of the Structures & Construction Division and is currently serving as Chairman of the Finance Committee and on the National Eurocodes Advisory Committee.
